The huge competition and numbers of of passengers in Europe make Low-cost airfares from budget airlines a reality, whether you're a frequent business flyer, or a tourist wanting to see the sites of Europe - perhaps a Paris citybreak, or Menorca holidays.

Europe has so many low cost carriers, it can be hard to find a good deal. The choices can be quite daunting. Don’t worry, this can be your chance to find a bargain flight due to the fierce competition of airlines in Europe.

  • Monarch who started out in 1967 with just two aircrafts is able to boast of a fleet of twenty eight planes today! They claim to fly about 5 million people annually to over 100 destinations.

  • Myair is a relatively newer entrant into the budget airline market. Myair for the moment is sticking to the Italian market connecting Italy to different parts of Europe.

  • Ryanair was one of the first airlines to experiment with the budget air travel format. And with 35 million passengers this year alone - and an expected 70 million by 2012 - this has proved a pretty successful experiment. Ryan Air offers amazingly cheap flights through their online booking service, in fact, they've been know to sell flights for €1, making the tax more expensive than the actual flight. Ryanair have led the budget flight field, and continue to be a major player, offering inexpensive, but generally very reliable flights to many destinations right across Europe.

  • Sky Europe is currently the largest and leading low cost Central European airline. They have five bases spread across the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. Their position in Central Europe have made them well equipped to compete in the cut throat budget airline industry. They offer daily low-fare connections from major European cities to Budapest, Krakow, Warsaw, Prague and Bratislava-Vienna
  • Snowflake Airways is a part of Scandinavian Airlines System which has been an integral part of Europe's aviation history since 1918. They mainly cater to the Scandinavian regions of Sweden and Denmark.

  • RockHopper is a much smaller airline than the others mentioned on this page, they fly about seven routes between the Channel Islands, France and England.

  • Transavia is one of the largest Dutch holiday transporters, with destinations in and around the Mediterranean. They also operate Basiq Air which is KLM's low cost airline.
