Which Airline – Asia Pacific
Cheap flights in Asia & the Pacific have recently taken off (excuse the pun). Asia is becoming increasingly popular as a tourist destination, and competition for the tourist dollar is hotting up. As a result there are a number of budget airlines offering discount air tickets throughout the Asia/Pacific Region and into Australia.
It's difficult to find the best deals on plane tickets in Asia and the pacific, but the following airlines are a great place to start:
- Air Philippines' domestic destinations include Bacolod, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Dumaguete, General Santos, Iloilo, Legaspi, Manila, Puerto Princesa, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga. They have been in the flying business since 1995 and in 2002 carried 880,000 passengers. They have won a number of prestigious awards including in 2004 the' Outstanding Domestic Airline Company' award given by the Asia Pacific Awards Council and the National Affairs Foundation.
- Bangkok Airlines serves 20 destinations in 8 Asian countries, including Thailand, Cambodia, Japan, China, Singapore, and Laos. Having started out as a private aviation company in 1968, Bangkok Airlines has a lot of experience to get you to your destination safely and cheaply.
- JAL Express is the low-cost version of Japan Airlines. They operate out of Osaka as a wholly owned subsidiary of JAL. The fleet consists of around 8 Boeing 737-400 aircraft, that fly domestic flights. The airline has the advantage of being backed by the well-respected JAL, while offering a cheaper alternative to JAL flights.
- Southeast Asian Airlines (SEAIR) have been pioneers in the Philippine aviation industry, providing a reliable air service since 1995. They carried over 225,000 passengers in 2005 in their fleet of 9 LET UVP-E and 1 Dornier 28 aircraft.
- Virgin Blue have rocked the Australian aircraft market in true Richard Branson style. They have established themselves as a low cost alternative to QANTAS, offering online sale fares throughout the year. Apart from flying throughout Australia, Virgin Blue and their partner Pacific Blue offer tickets to New Zealand, Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, and the Cook Islands.
